Our biggest and best Blues Festival yet, In the Market for Blues, produced by the Blues Society of Omaha is to be held on Saturday, August 7, 2021.
 
We are ecstatic to welcome Ana Popovic as the headliner for this event with another amazing 50 bands performing, including Omaha’s own Blues Hero, Hector Anchondo!  The full artist list and schedule is posted below.

FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions!
In the Market for Blues is held at 14 venues across Downtown Omaha, Old Market, and The Capitol District, including 4 venues in outside spaces.  The map is pictured below.

How do I purchase tickets? Omahasbluesfest21.eventbrite.com

How much are Tickets/Wristbands? $20 in Advance, $25 Day of Show, $10 for a Single Venue (Except Holland Outdoors which requires a wristband purchase), $5 for a Single Venue after 9 PM

How much is the VIP Experience? $75. See details for VIP below. Any questions about VIP experience may be emailed to our VIP Coordinator at [email protected]


Where is the Box Office/Will Call? The Box Office and Blues Festival Merch tent is on 13th & Howard Street from 11 AM to 8 PM. Please enter through Howard Street.  We are set up in the courtyard in front of the Dandelion Pop-Up. We will also have a mini-box office at the Holland Center from 5:30 – 9:00 PM.

You can not use your paper receipt to enter a venue.  You must come and exchange your receipt for a wristband.

What time is the Box Office/Will Call open? The Box Office and Blues Festival Merch tent is open from 11:00 AM to approximately 8:00 PM on Saturday, Aug. 7th. A mini-box office is also at the Holland Center from 5:30 – 9:00 PM.

What do I get with a Wristband? You will receive entry into all 14 venues for In The Market For Blues on Saturday / Aug. 7th.  Please wear your wristband all day to get easy entry into all venues.
  

What is included in the VIP Experience Ticket? Join the VIP Experience to get exclusive access to your favorite Blues Artists! Special VIP-only performance of Ana Popovic at The Jewell on Friday, Aug. 6th. Opportunities to meet your favorite Blues artists and listen to their stories in Q & A sessions! Be a part of the VIP Experience for the In the Market For Blues on August 7th for just $75. Very limited seating at two shows, 6:30 PM or 9:00 PM, choose your time when purchasing your VIP Ticket.

How do I upgrade my GA ticket to VIP?  If you have previously purchased a General Admission ticket and would like to UPGRADE to a VIP, please email our Blues Society of Omaha Treasurer to upgrade, subject to availability.  

How do I learn more about the artists coming to In The Market For Blues? Take a listen to our YouTube Playlist to familiarize yourself with the music of these brilliant artists. Follow our Facebook page to get bios of many of the artists too.  

What hotel should I stay at if I am coming in from out of town:  We have booked a fan room block at The DoubleTree Downtown hotel.  As of Friday, July 23, there were still rooms available at a very special rate of $89 + $10 parking.  Use this link to book your room.  The deadline to book at this rate is July 16th or until sold out.  


May I purchase wristbands at a participating venue before Aug. 7th? No. Wristbands are only sold at Blues Society of Omaha shows through authorized sellers, typically our BSO president, Mark Grubbs, our Membership or Merch coordinators, Susan and Steve Keith, will have wristbands available for purchase if you would like to save the (small) fees from Eventbrite. Please watch our Facebook page for the shows that In the Market for Blues wristbands will be available for purchase.

Do you have t-shirts for sale? Yes, In the Market for Blues t-shirts and koosies will be for sale.  We also have all of our Blues Society of Omaha merch for sale, including hats, shirts and koosies.  

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event? All venues (except Havanna Garage) are all ages up until 9 p.m., accompanied by an adult.

Does my minor child need a wristband? Ages 6 and under are free with a paid adult. Over age 6 requires a paid admission.

Can I bring in outside food or beverages? No outside food or beverages are allowed.  Every venue has drinks available for purchase.  Many have food available. Please support our local venues who suffered so much during the pandemic.
May I bring a lawn chair? No. Venues have seats or standing room. Holland outdoors has plenty of seats for everyone.

May I get a refund? Sorry, all sales to In the Market for Blues are final.

What if I bring a friend with me to the festival and they did not purchase their ticket online? Tickets are $25 day of show.
