Now that the election is behind us, let's forget the battlefield states and the swing states...it's time for a battle of the swing bands! (OK, that's the best election-related joke we could come up with here at P-Cat Central.) This Saturday, Nov. 8th, Omaha's very own Prairie Cats will take on the Grand Marquis from Kansas City in a swing smackdown you won't soon forget. Sponsored by Omaha Jitterbugs, the games begin at 9pm at Lincoln's Ply Mor Ballroom, 6600 West "O" St. Yep, these two swing bands will battle it out all night for only $10. And if you haven't heard the Grand Marquis, you're in for a treat. These cats can really swing! Also, a big thank you to all who shared in our 10 year birthday bash at Mick's a few weeks ago. We had a great time! And if you missed all the great press we received prior to the show, be sure to go to www.prairiecats.com and click on the press link. We had great stories in the Omaha World-Herald, The Reader, and the City Weekly (The City Weekly story includes a great photo of the band and a truck, including Daddy K standing where the engine should be. Intrigued? You should be! Again, hope to see you this Saturday for a truly remarkable event! For more info on the show, check out www.omahajitterbugs.org |
