Default Fat Tuesday

Fat Tuesday is Tuesday, February 5th, 2008

Mardi Gras (Fat Tuesday) is the traditional feast holiday that culminates on Fat Tuesday, the day prior to the beginning of Lent, Ash Wednesday. Lent is the season of fasting and prayer that leads up to Easter. Traditionally, people celebrate and indulge in all of the novelties that they are preparing to give up for the season of Lent. Thus, we have the name FAT Tuesday.

The State Theatre will be hosting a concert celebration of Fat Tuesday to benefit the Hope House in New Orleans. The concert features live performances by four Nebraska based bands with blues roots. A variety of traditional New Orleans style food will be served throughout the night to compliment the festivities (please RSVP for full availability).

Doors open at 8:00pm.
Admission is 21 and over.
Tickets are $7 in advance, $8 at the door.
Advance tickets are available at http://www.statemovietheatre.com/ or from the State Theatre box office located at 1415 O Street, Lincoln, NE.
The box office opens nightly 30 minutes prior the first show of the night (Call 402.475.8198 for show times.).
