Mercurys this week

Ok, bunch of stuff this week. First of all, this Lent thing is harder than it looks! And confusing. Is screwed a cuss word? I said it yesterday, then asked about it, but didn't get an answer. I'm gonna go with no. Holy cow, another what, 13 days? I got a lot of responses from the last e-mail letting me know when Lent is over (I think Terry O said the 12th). My favorite was the response that said when Jesus rolls the boulder away from the grave, if he sees his shadow there's 6 more weeks of Lent. (Don't yell at me, someone actually sent me that!) I also neglected to capitalize Catholic. (freakin' Mick...always just lookin' for stuff to bust my...you know what's about. Get over it man! It's been like 2 years, the smell will be gone soon.)

And thanks to Josh "the Boy" Dunwoody for fillin' in on short notice at the 9'r, finally earning his self givin title of the 4th Mercury.
So it's time for a big birthday gig again. D's birthday was actually Sunday, but there's always gotta be a birthday gig in the same week.
So Thursday OR Friday, you take your pick. Thursday night at my favorite gig, The Whiskey Roadhouse inside the Horseshoe Casino, 8pm - Midnight
I can't wait for that one. The last time we played there I think was also for D's birthday and was the night we recorded a couple things for the live cd. The main reason I can't wait though, is 'cause I can smoke!!! Finally you can hear "I Won't be Leavin'" the way it was meant to be sung - through lips also clenching a Marlboro. You just can't transmit the pain of those lyrics without a smoke. You know what I'm talkin' about.
And if that's not enough, Friday night we'll be at McKennas (74th & Pacific). We always seem to have a good time there, it just turns into a little party. And the best part of that one? I go home at the end of the night with some of the awesome black eyed pea dip! (Yeah, I'm a rock-n-roller..... black eyed pea dip and poker after dark on the tv after a gig. Yep, it's how I roll...)
