|  Festival Invitation to BSO members Dear Omaha Blues Society, We all share a common goal: the preservation and presentation of Blues Artists, Blues Music and Blues History as part of our collective mission statements. To be able to do so for the past 20 years is a proud accomplishment in the annals of any blues society's history and rightfully so. On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Phoenix Blues Society, I'd like to take this opportunity to invite all of you and your members to come to Phoenix on Saturday, February 21st as we proudly celebrate our 20th anniversary. We've put together a wonderful show including a Phoenix Historical Retrospective that will present the icons of our Valley's Blues scene and we've topped it off with Janiva Magness, one of our own who got her start here in the Valley with her first band, Janiva & the Mojomatics. We'd love to have you and I've tried to incorporate all of the information in this e-mail that anyone would need to make plans to attend. Hope to see you here! Blues Blast 2009 will be held on Saturday, February 21st at the Mesa Amphitheatre. The show will start at 11:00 AM. Headlining the show will be Alligator recording artist Janiva Magness. Other artists appearing at Blues Blast are: Omar & the Howlers, The Juke Joint Duoof Cedric Burnside & Lightnin' Malcolm, The Mikel - Meridith Band, Kathy Mabry, and Kevin Casenhiser.
