Default Mick's to Close

For Immediate Release:

Mick's Music & Bar, Omaha's home for original acoustic music, has been sold and will close on January 1, 2009. It will reopen under a new name and new management.

Major artists who gave excellent, intimate performances at Mick's include Ian Moore, Kelly Joe Phelps, HEM, Matthew Ryan, Sarah Lee Guthrie, Jolie Holland, Bill Kirchen, Chris Gaffney, David Mead, Richard Buckner, Jon Dee Graham, Conor Oberst, Jessie Sykes, Gillian Welch, Chris Trapper, The California Guitar Trio, JD Souther and Adrian Legg.

I'm also especially thankful for those regular guests who came out often to hear something new, to give a chance to unfamiliar artists, trusting that we wouldn't disappoint them. Those music fans made all our efforts worthwhile.

We have a great lineup of shows to offer through the end of the year, culminating in our
