I have made a lot of progress booking Murphy’s Matinees into 2009, now that I got my 2009 DayPlannerJ Magic Slim and The Teardrops (his touring band), Levee Town, Hamilton Loomis, Moreland & Arbuckle, Michael Burks, Eric Sardinas, Lil’ Ed, Debbie Davies and more. My brother Dan just turned me on to Pandora Radio - Listen to Free Internet Radio, Find New Music, which is the coolest thing I have found on the internet in quite some time. After a quick registration, they create a radio station based on the style of your favorite artist. I made one with Robert Cray, one with Bob Marley, and one with The Rolling Stones. The songs they intersperse with your chosen artist make it very interesting and enjoyable. Technology is coolJ

Dear Zoo Fans,
Usually we have our monthly wine tastings on Sunday afternoons, but this month we thought we would try a Thursday evening. So, join us TOMORROW evening at 6pm for some wine and food provided by Wasabi (our neighborhood’s Japanese restaurant). And while you are picking up some wine for Thanksgiving you can also pick up tickets to Sundays Coco Montoya show or to December 14ths Rock and Roll Rumble.

Thanks to you, our fans, we’ve been nominated for an Omaha Entertainment Award in the jazz category! Now, we just have to blow the socks off the members of the academy this Friday. And you’re invited!

Prairie Cats are playing a special OEA showcase this Friday, Nov. 21, at 11pm at the Waiting Room, 62nd and Maple. This showcase is part of a huge night of music in Benson—think of it as a mini-South by Southwest Music Festival. From 8pm to close, four clubs—The Waiting Room, Barley St., PS Collective, and our personal favorite—Mick’s—will be hosting some of the finest bands in the area. For only ten bucks you can purchase a wristband at any of the venues, which then allows you access to any and all of the shows. Truly a bar-hopping experience.

But again, the show you don’t want to miss happens at the Waiting Room this Friday at 11pm. It’s only a 30 minute power set so be prepared for a mind-blowing set of pyrotechnic swing! OK, well maybe we’ll leave the fireworks at home. Not really that safe. Oh, and for you dancers, there’s plenty of room to get your jitterbug on!

While other bands simply aspire to make music, the Nace Brothers have stepped to a realm that few groups will ever realize.
