Hi Blues Friends!

Just want to get a plug in for Elwin James and his blues band The Way Outs, playing at the Barfly this Sunday, November 16.

I have had the pleasure of knowing, and occasionally playing with Elwin for several years, and I have to say he is one of my favorite guitarists ever! He and the Way Outs are a high energy, highly energizing, mix of classic and original blues.

As all great blues players, Elwin has taken his influence from many blues guitar greats (Albert King, Buddy Guy, BB King, Robert Cray, and many others), and made it his own. He has created his own personal style that is crisp, clean, smooth, and so unpretentious and understated, yet invigorating, exciting, and unpredictable!

Can you tell I dig this guy's playin' ??!! I really think you will too.

Also, please note that Elwin will be playing with Johnny Rawls and me, along with local bass guitar great Lyle Yates, at McKenna's on Saturday, November 29th. Please mark your calendar for that show too!
