Greetings Blues Fans, Another big weekend of cool music in Linoma. Candye Kane plays Murphys tonight at 5:30pm (cover just $8). Celebrated Blues Diva and seven time San Diego best blues award winner Candye Kane will embark on a 26 city tour in support of her eighth CD Guitard and Feathered/ RUF records. The Philadephia Inquirer calls Kane a serious and seriously powerful singer who lays it on the line. All Music Guide and the Montreal Gazette call Guitard and Feathered The best album of Kanes career. Pretty great reviews for a singer who was already named one of the 30 Essential Women of the Blues by the House of Blues in 1994! G &F is in regular rotation on XM radio/ Bluesville and is pick of the week on the House of Blues radio hour, In May, Kane won the 2007 West Coast Songwriters award for her original song, Im my own worst enemy from her latest release. Another Kane composition, The Toughest Girl Alive will air this week on the CW network series, Hidden Palms. Guitard and Feathered, produced by Kane and former Muddy Waters guitarist Bob Margolin, features tracks with Sue Foley, Ana Popovic, Bob Brozman, Kid Ramos, Junior Watson, Dave Alvin and Popa Chubby. Highlighting Kanes songwriting and powerhouse delivery, Guitard and Feathered showcases a wiser and more serious diva. (All Music Guide.com) The Candye Kane band continues nearly two decades of relentless touring with stops including the Ottawa Cisco Systems Blues festival and the Mont- Tremblant Blues festival in Quebec. Kanes fall schedule includes appearances in Europe and Hong Kong. Her live band features her eldest son, Evan Caleb on drums, Former Mighty Flyer Bill Stuve on bass and Heine Andersen on guitar.
