Default I'm Lash MF LaRue

Ya know how when you dig a band that no one else really knows about, then they become famous and everybodys buying thier new disk and talking about 'em, and you're like "I've been listening to them since the first album when none of you dorks had a clue"? You like to see the band getting thier due, but it kinda takes away from the coolness of it ya know?
So Cormac MacCarthy is probably my favorite author, has been for a long time. He writes really tragic stuff (and you know how I'm a sucker for tragic). No one really knows much about him, and it was kinda like one of those unknown bands. He came out with a new book, so I gotta go to Borders and get it. (Here's where the story gets ugly) Turns out, Oprah has discovered him, and the new book is in the Oprah book club. Good for him, he deserves all the credit and success he can get. But NOW, here I am Lash MF LaRue, and I gotta walk up to the big display in the bookstore that says OPRAH BOOK CLUB, I gotta walk up to this thing and actually pick a book off the Oprah table! This is not good! I felt like I was in the adult bookstore buying weirdo porn. I wanted to announce to everyone in the bookstore, "I liked this guy BEFORE Oprah, she has nothing to do with this purchase, I'm Lash MF LaRue, Dammit!" It was very traumatic for me. I need a hug - wait, no I don't - LMFL!
So this week The Mercs are at the new spring Dundee Days outside Trovatos at 50th & Underwood7 - 9:30 pm. The party so nice, they're holding it twice! Usually Dundee Days is in August, but they're doing a spring one this year also. I'm not sure if I've had any more fun than I had there last year when we played it. (I should say "alleged" fun, there were things that may or may not have happened there that i can neither confirm or deny.) So if you were there last year, you can come out sat and smugly tell people " I saw the Mercs here last year at the ORIGINAL Dundee days, not this sellout, commercialized spring crap"
Also, the Mercs live cd "13" is finished! Don't forget to mark your calendar for the release party at the Waiting Room June 9th.
