Blues Explosion - Iowa Blues Challenge Results

The Blues Explosion competed in last night's (May 16th) Iowa Blues Challenge Finals in Des Moines. The group was honored to have been given the opportunity to share the stage with the other three bands in the competition (The Avey Brothers, Matt Woods & The Thunderbolts and Trouble No More).

After the first three bands performed their very impressive sets, The Blues Explosion was the last band to close the show. The Explosion performed with all their heart and delivered with what we know as the Explosion sound of power and energy. The group received a standing ovation at the conclusion of their set.

The Blues Explosion finished a very proud 3rd place against some awesome talent. The Avey Brothers was the band crowned the Iowa Blues Challenge winner. We wish all the bands well that competed in this great event.

Thanks to the Blues Society of Omaha for the support we received from you. We very much appreciated the coverage in the Blues Notes and having our band mentioned on CD 105 for being part of the performance at Playing with Fire. Also, we would like to thank Blues Ed and the other Blues Ed groups for helping us out this weekend. The Blues Ed family is a great family to be a part of in Omaha. And also a big thanks to all of our Blues Ed clinicians for helping this group get to where it is today.
