Next week we celebrate the Fourth of July...

This week Dan White joins me in the studio to talk about the Sunday jam series at Downtown Blues...PLUS - we get three-in-a-row from the Roomful of Blues; who play Lincoln, July 1st and Omaha, July 2nd.

As always, hear archival editions of PS Blues at www.KIWRblues.podomatic.com

BIG, BIG week this week....

1. "4th of July" homage, with songs picked by listeners, in the first hour,

2. A "sonic" walk through this year's Indigenous Jam with music by Indigenous, Piedmont master Guy Davis' and Sarah Benck (hear Matt Woods in the 3rd hour), and

3. A show stopping interview with Chicago 3rd generation electric guitar player Dave Specter...

All for YOUR listening pleasure. "Tell a friend"

This week, Sunday July 12th "knobmeister" Terry G. takes over the controls as I sit at home and brood... THANKS Terry Geeeeeeeeeee!

Hear the music of this year's Indigenous Jam '09 at www.KIWRBlues.podomatic.com. Featuring the piedmont acoustic blues of Guy Davis, our friends Indigenous, the Thorogood-like guitar laden grooves of Matt Woods and the Thunderbolts and Omaha's Sarah Benck's 'Big Wheel' featuring Jason Churchill and Kevin Hiddleston.

And we are diligently working on a VERY SPECIAL guest for this year's show ending jam...yup, he was a recent guest on the show - now you figure it out!

Tickets are only $16 and at www.Etix.com or Homer's Music Stores.

This week we are ON FIRE!

(I don't know if you noticed but I am working my ass off for you guys! LOL)

Interviews with...

Hamilton Loomis - who appears on July 23rd at Murphy's Lounge,

Matt Woods (and the Thunderbolts) - who appears on August 8th at the Indigenous Jam, and

Mato Nanji "pops in" for a moment to say hello. (Watch for his pre-show, open to the public, Meet n' Greet).

Finally loads AND LOADS of new blues releases this week.

If you haven't, listen to Mike Jacobs, Mondays at 1:00 p.m. on www.KIOS.org and Mister Ally Lee on Wednesday's at 1:00 p.m. at Lionheart Radio 107.3fm - Passionate about community radio . Good music, good friends...good times.

The Kris Lager interview should have replaced the Matt Woods interview last week - so look forward to the Matt Woods interview this week. A very good talent out of the Des Moines market...which begs the question, why aren't these two markets working more closely together?

This week is a bit relaxed as we are getting ready for this Saturday's Indigenous Jam.

Three tracks from Muddy Waters, a special tribute to Bob Marley - featuring covers of his music and the second debut of 'Nebraska Calling.'

Please see the other post regarding, 'Nebraska Calling.' It is a fun story.

If everything goes according to plan we'll have an interview with Dave Alvin on Sunday as well as session of "Live at Barley Street" with Western Electric.

Our next Barley Street Tavern date is Tuesday, August 25th.

As is our wonk, I'll be playing a two-in-a-row of Muddy Waters again this week. Sure hope you're diggin'it.
