Heads up!!! Blind Pigs just released the new Damon Fowler CD! I got my "signed" copy last night at the release party in Tampa...... Damon is performing at Skippers Smokehouse Friday the 30th to kick it off... Definitetly a must cd for your collection......You can purchase it at your local Borders or whatever now! or go online and get one... Keep an eye out for Damon on his site or at BlindPig Records venue list for when he will be out your way...... http://www.damonfowler.com/ Last edited by C70man; 01-28-2009 at 07:51 AM. |

Okay - what's the connection here? Is there an Omaha connection? We are playing the record on Pacific Street Blues but I am curious why someone is posting this guy in Nebraska?

Whoa fella - kinda defensive there. Could it be you're a marketing guy posing as a fan? I think that's okay. Today its all about the viral marketing and manipulating impressions. I just wanted to know of Damon was from the area or if he played here or what. Market away and good luck.

| I really love his new album........BUT...... The studio cut down all the songs for "radio time", or whatever you want to call it.....Almost all the songs are 4to4:30 long. A few under 3 minutes! In particular the "Some Fun" song at 2:27min is a great opener for radio, but Sugar Lee at 4:32min and Lonely Blue at 4:30min are the albums best studio tracks.....VFW at 3:21min is also a great radio song as this studio version sounds nearly as good as live. But "Live" these songs are absolutely fantastic with an average 3-4 minute lead guitar segways. Especially, "I Hope It's Gonna Rain" at 4:44min is normally an 8 minute song. I have used my H4 to tape him at small venues and to me the longer versions are by far the best. I just attended his Debut release concert at Skippers Smokehouse on Friday and he was fantastic. An absolute packed house and an incredible show of guitar wizardry. Thanks for the inquiry. I hope you blues fans in Omaha get to hear him soon. |

Wow, I google Damon and this site pops up. I was at the CD release party at Skippers on 1/30(a fantastic Blues venue:Koko Taylor, Tab Benoit, Buddy Guy, Pinetop Perkins, Derek Trucks et al...they've all been there). Despite the unusually cold weather, it was a fun night. I'd rather see Damon than Derek Trucks, much more personality. Although Damon can play the Blues with anyone, this CD is better classified as Americana, some Blues, some country, and some Roots Rock. I see that Damon is # 12 in the Blues category on Billboard. That's a nice entrance into the charts. It's nice to see a Tampa area guy enter the national scene. |

When Damon plays the blues its electrifying. He can crank as good if not better than all of them out there. He will also be playing with Guitar Shorty at the Shasko Festival coming up. I hope he gets out to Omaha soon so the rest of these members can see and hear him. I know he's in DesMoines soon, and Fort Dodge, but I didn't see him scheduled for Omaha. Glad you got to see him....it's easy to become a real fan when you catch him in small venues cranking on his vintage Les Paul and Strat (he rarely travels with now). | |
