Pre Order now at: http://www.johnnemethblues.com/store.html Orders will ship on 1/27/09 The Bay Area's own John Nemeth, who burst on the scene last year with his dazzling debut album, will release his latest CD, Love Me Tonight, on January 27, 2009. The vocalist/harmonica player, who skillfully blends retro and modern Blues and Soul into compelling music that is simultaneously old and new, has been winning acclaim as one of the most gifted artists on the modern blues scene. Brimming with energy, his new CD is tougher and edgier. Nemeth re-visits the inspired sounds of the 1950's and 1960's when Chicago Blues was adding Funk and Rock to the mix. While reinvigorating the sound of vintage American R&B with his spine-tingling vocals and considerable songwriting skills, John has crafted a timeless slice of American music. Frequent collaborator Elvin Bishop guests on two tracks. The 2007 release of his national debut CD, Magic Touch, on Blind Pig Records, immediately established Nemeth as a rapidly ascending star to be reckoned with. Blues Revue called the album, "one of the most exciting blues debuts of the past year." Tom Mazzolini, who's seen generations of blues luminaries as promoter of the San Francisco Blues Festival, called Nemeth "an incredible talent, one of the new generation of blues that's carrying us on for a long time. This is a major talent in your presence." Blues icon Elvin Bishop, who enlisted John to perform on four tracks on Elvin's Grammy-nominated CD, said, "He's my idea of an up-and-coming blues singer. I don't see a lot of them out there, but I know one when I see him." Nemeth, a native of Boise, Idaho who relocated to San Francisco in 2004, will be celebrating the release of his new album with a show at Yoshi's in Oakland on Friday, February 27, 2009. You can hear this dynamic performer on 'Prairie Home Companion" at the link below.
