The Mid-American Music Festival is coming to Omaha this September. This four-day music festival will feature over 100 bands from all over the country. All music Genres will be represented including Blues and Jazz. This inaugural music festival will celebrate independent music from local, regional and national performers. The MAMF is designed to not only unify the local music scene, but to position Omaha as a regional powerhouse when it comes to independent music. The goal of the MAMF is to create an international music festival that will showcase musicians from all over the world. The MAMF will also include instructional seminars, educational sessions and industry panelists hosted by some of the most recognizable names in the local music business. The MAMF will take place at multiple live music venues in the Benson Entertainment District. In all, the MAMF will have ten stages set-up to showcase over 100 bands during the four-day festival. Official MAMF venues include: The Waiting Room, Barley Street Tavern, Espana, Burkes, The Benson Grind, The Foundry, Mussette, Jakes, Micks and the PS Collective. Musicians are increasing their live performances as an integral part of their record releases and marketing objectives. Recent music festivals like the MidPoint Music Festival in Cincinnati, Ohio and the 10,000 Lakes Festival held in Michigan have gained in reputation and attendance since their inception. They have also made a huge financial impact on their local economy. Most music showcases have the same common goal and that is to showcase independent music. The MAMF will be no different! The MAMF will intentionally focus on local and regional artist showcases our inaugural year" says Executive Producer, Tony Lange. The MAMF will also incorporate local industry professionals from the Omaha region to serve as speakers, course instructors and session hosts. Instead of going after more nationally recognized speakers and panelists, we will tap our own talent pool right here in Omaha. This approach will further solidify our case as an independent music powerhouse in the Midwest says Lange. Submissions for performing at the inaugural MAMF are currently being accepted until May 30th, 2008. For further information regarding the MAMF please visit our web site at: www.MidAmericanMusicFestival.com Attendance bracelets will go on sale beginning Monday, June 2, 2008.
