In a on line chat I was having with a West Coast country guitar player Albert's name was mentioned, Leon said he had heard Cummings playing Working Man's blues - the song he opened with at Murphy's - on sirius' country channell. Crossover to another style is always good, more exposure, new listeners. Leon's a great example, went right to I tunes lsitened to the CD & clicked BUY, voila new blues fan. Also had a great time at Toni Lynn Washington show, cool room, smokin' band - if you didn't go you missed a good one. Jaybo |

The song, "Working Man Blues" is a Merle Haggard song. Blue Revue magazine's editor, Chip Whatevermylastname is wrote his op-ed about the natural alignment between blues and country music. I agree, Hank Williams is a great "blues" singer. This type of crossover is especially typified in Ray Charles catalogue.
