| ANNUAL TOY DRIVE: REQUEST FOR ACTION So, I guess most of you know that I, (Lash LaRue), help put together a toy drive every year to get Christmas presents for the kids on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation. Well, this week kicks off the toy drive with the first of 3 benefit shows for this year. So no funny business in this weeks blog/e-mail. This is serious stuff for me, so sit up straight and read politely, dammit! You can find all the details about the toy drive at www.myspace.com/lashlaruetoydrive So, did you ever get NOTHING for Christmas?? No, you didn't but that's what most of these kids get if we don't help so ...well, anyway, I don't want to use the Mercs blog for my soapbox so check out the toy drive myspace. www.themercurys.us www.myspace.com/themercurysus www.myspace.com/lashlaruetoydrive - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - KIWR Blues - 89.7 The River Pacific Street Blues Playlist Sunday, 2007 9:00 Noon Hear PS Blues 24/7 www.kiwrblues.podomatic.com HOST: Rick Galusha Engineer: Terry Gamper HOUR ONE: 1. It just didn't get much better than Frank Zappa in his heyday, so listen in on this hallowed moment in rock history. Play This Concert in the Concert Vault

As the trip was a long and quiet one, she stopped the car and asked the Navajo woman if she would likea ride. With a silent nod of thanks, the woman got into the car. Resuming the journey, Sally tried in vain to make a bit of small talk with the Navajo woman. The old woman just sat silently, looking intently at everything she saw, studying every little detail, until she noticed a brown bag on the seat next to Sally. "What in bag?" asked the old woman. Sally looked down at the brown bag and said, "It's a bottle of wine. I got it for my husband." The Navajo woman was silent for another moment or two. Then speaking with the quiet wisdom of an elder, she said: "Good trade." Hi! - I want to let everybody know about this cool new movie that's out. I just saw the pre-release showing of the new John Sayles movie "The Honeydripper" about a guy with an early electric guitar helping to save a juke joint in Alabama in 1950-ish. Juke owner played by Danny Glover and lots of good musicians in the film like Keb Mo , Mabel John, and a big part for great Blues Sax man Eddie Shaw! I consider Eddie to be the greatest living Blues Sax player and one of the greatest Blues Sax players ever! I did some background music for the film and it's my horn you hear just after the opening credits as you hear the rockin music from the rival club down the street. You get to see and hear lots of Eddie Shaw later in the film. Eddie Shaw in the "Honeydripper" The film was not backed by the big Hollywood movie biz, was independently produced and is being independently distributed also. They need support! Check out the trailer - http://honeydripper-movie.com//trailer/ or their MySpace site - http://www.myspace.com/honeydrippermovie The director, John Sayles is known for his movies Return of the Secaucus 7, Lone Star, Passion Fish, Eight Men Out, The Secret of Roan Inish and for his work as screenwriter for many other big films (see below). The movie starts Friday, Jan 18th at Kendall Square Cinema in Cambridge , MA - http://www.landmarktheatres.com/Mark...uareCinema.htm and at some other spots around the country NY, LA, Atlanta...
